We were introduced to Janet through my brother who had just recently purchased his first home. At the initial meeting she walked us through the home buying process and we were immediately off searching for our first home. The search went relatively quickly and pain free. It wasn’t until the purchase agreement was settled upon and we began dealing with the loan process that the real fun began! We went with a large national bank for our loan because of the extremely competitive loan terms and the assumption that dealing with a national bank with a good reputation would be relatively easy. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. We were lucky to have Janet on our team, though. She made sure deadlines were met and kept track of the process; from the initial home inspection to signing the closing papers. When aggravating issues with our lender came up she took the time to make calls to ensure that the loan would close in time. The amount of time it took to deal with the bank was a full time job in itself and we couldn’t have done it without her help.
Before we started the home buying process we considered going to one of the new internet-based real estate programs that promise a refund of a percentage of the agent fees. But after the papers were signed and we moved into our first condo, I’m glad we chose to work with Janet. She watched out for our best interests and dealt with the bank in a way that those internet-based agents could never have done.
